Shabby Apple Review

Occasionally, as a blogger, I have the fun opportunity to receive a free product here and there to try. I never agree unless it's truly something I'm interested in. When I received an email from Shabby Apple about trying one of their dresses, I jumped at the chance. Shabby Apple specializes in vintage and retro style clothing.

I actually already own a Shabby Apple dress--the Miles dress--which I purchased a few years ago. I love it! It's classy, fits well, and I always receive compliments when I wear it. Ironically the fabric for this dress is the exact same fabric as the FreeSpirit houndstooth fabric I ordered online and used for this bag. It's a great weight and perfect for a dress. Knowing that I already liked Shabby Apple products made me very excited to try out another one.

I had the opportunity to select a product from a list of skirts and dresses. I settled on the Boogie Woogie dress. I actually don't own a black dress and thought this would be perfect for the Christmas season.

I tried it on as soon as it arrived. It's surprisingly comfortable which I loved. The top is a knit fabric that moves with you, which is such a nice change in a dress like this. Although, with the knit on top, the fabric seems a little too casual when paired with the fun, frilly skirt. As I plan to wear this mostly in the winter, I intend to start looking for a sweater or shrug to dress up the top a bit more. It feels like it needs a little something extra. Adding a fun necklace will also dress it up a lot.

I don't exactly have places to wear all these dresses, but I have been browsing the Shabby Apple website recently. I found several more dresses I'd love to add to my closet.

I've been familiar with Shabby Apple products for a number of years. I've tried on multiple dresses in the past at a close-out sale they occasionally hold locally. I love that their dresses are generally made from quality fabrics that will hold up over time. Although several of their designs are funky and unique, most are fairly timeless and can be worn for years without looking completely out of style. Finally, they fit well. I do not have the perfect body like the models in the pictures above, but I'm very happy with how their dresses fit and look when on me (not just on the hanger). They have great, classy clothes for almost any occasion.

**Disclosure: I received a free dress form Shabby Apple for this review, but my opinions are my own.

  4. I remember when we went to try on all those SA dresses. You do look soooo good in that Miles dress! How fun that you got to do a review for them and get another dress. Both my SA dresses are some my faves.
