I have several new quilts in mind that I'd like to start, but I have decided I need to clear out a few WIPs before I add to the pile. I've been here before....
I decided to pull out my bee blocks from last year, put them back on the design wall, and finish them this time. These paper-pieced blocks are amazing, and I've debated several times about how to put them together. I am presently planning to sash them in white. I needed to make three blocks to fill in spots on this layout. Someone on Instagram suggested I use dark background fabrics on the remaining blocks. I've completed one--the August block from the Lucky Stars BOM club over at Don't Call Me Betsy. I love how it pops! I just signed up for Elizabeth's club on Sunday and will use two more of the patterns to fill the remaining holes. I've contemplated doing one block in a different color such as a berry or navy. I'm still debating. This is probably why it has taken me a year to finish this quilt.
So gorgeous! I've always loved this colour combination and these look super pretty all together :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty. I wouldn't add the extra color if it was me. I think it would make your eyes go to that one block instead of taking in all of them at one time.
ReplyDeleteThese are fab, and I love the pop of darkness :o)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!! I'm sure whatever your final choice, it will be lovely! x
ReplyDeleteThese look beautiful, I love the colours.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks! Whatever you decide colorwise will be amazing.
ReplyDeleteDo two, one in the berry and one regular. Whichever one doesn't look right becomes the label on the back!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteoh it's fun to see all of these together again! I forgot about that block. lol
ReplyDeleteBut worth the wait! I love the block with the darker background, it works great against the rest.
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! I'm in the process of clearing out some WIPs right now. It's soooo hard to not start the enw exciting ones :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of making a few with dark backgrounds. That will make it pop and give it so much personality!
ReplyDeleteI like the star blocks. I'm curious what the finished quilt will look like.
