Working through some WIPs

I have several new quilts in mind that I'd like to start, but I have decided I need to clear out a few WIPs before I add to the pile. I've been here before....

I decided to pull out my bee blocks from last year, put them back on the design wall, and finish them this time. These paper-pieced blocks are amazing, and I've debated several times about how to put them together. I am presently planning to sash them in white. I needed to make three blocks to fill in spots on this layout. Someone on Instagram suggested I use dark background fabrics on the remaining blocks. I've completed one--the August block from the Lucky Stars BOM club over at Don't Call Me Betsy. I love how it pops! I just signed up for Elizabeth's club on Sunday and will use two more of the patterns to fill the remaining holes. I've contemplated doing one block in a different color such as a berry or navy. I'm still debating. This is probably why it has taken me a year to finish this quilt.

  2. These are so pretty. I wouldn't add the extra color if it was me. I think it would make your eyes go to that one block instead of taking in all of them at one time.

  7. Do two, one in the berry and one regular. Whichever one doesn't look right becomes the label on the back!
