I've wanted to redo my
Unraveled quilt since making it last year. Not because I didn't like, but because I wanted to make it bigger. The problem was that making it bigger would make the pieced rectangles too large and cumbersome to work with.
After thinking about this quilt for nearly a year, I just finished piecing the top for Unraveled v2. It's a throw size. Here is a little preview. The wind was crazy today so I didn't get many great shots, but you get the idea.
It's crazy, busy, but I love it. I actually designed the quilt size with the intention of using a 2yd piece of minky on the back. Although, I've now decided it needs to be quilted with a spiral which I can't do on minky. The minky would make it too hard to do dense quilting like that. So that means it's time to design a quilt back!
I am planning to release my
Unraveled pattern which originally printed in
Modern Quilts Unlimited with this new larger size included in the pattern. Publishing that pattern is first on my list once the kids are in school. It's amazing what eight hours of kid-free time each will allow me to get done. My to-do list is getting long though.
I like both versions. The kids will be out of school for the summer (again!) before you can blink. :D
ReplyDeleteOh wow I love the white with the bright colors!
ReplyDeleteI love the new coloring - nice job!
ReplyDeleteLove Version 2 as well. Such fabulous colors

ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool design!
ReplyDeleteOooh, you're coming unravelled in brights this time :oD
ReplyDeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! The smaller panels are a really nice idea. If you'd like to do spirals and minky, you're welcome to take me up on that offer from forever ago--I haven't forgotten! Just been busy, I guess.
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy busy, but a great quilt! I can't believe that you're going to write a pattern for it. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteI love both. The upper quilt looks very elegant and sophisticated to me while the other is so fresh and colourful.
ReplyDeleteLooking sooo forward for the pattern. I love crazy colourful quilts.
You can almost make out the word 'love' in the center. Very beautiful!
