My family was all together last week for the first time in three years. It was pure craziness with nine of the eleven grandchildren ages six and under. It was fun to see my siblings and their growing families. There are five of us, and we are spread across the country. It's rare to all land in the same place for a few days.

Unfortunately, I neglected to take any photos of people and will have to steal pictures from my family. Although, my siblings and I did take a photography field trip one evening to the lake and took some fun sunset pictures. Every time I take a photography field trip I'm reminded that I need to do this more often.

Our summer is beginning to wrap up. This family trip was our last big adventure for the summer. We have a couple weeks of swimming lessons. We'll fit in another trip to the zoo and the dinosaur museum. I'm sure the first day of school will arrive before I know it. It's bitter sweet to send the kiddos back to school. I made a conscious decision this summer to blog less. I'm not saying we had some amazing, fabulous summer because of it, but I do know they got more mom-time than they would if I were constantly worried about my next post. It was good for us, but I've missed it. I look forward to having a bit of downtime again while they are in school, but am a little bit scared about sending my oldest off to first-grade. What a change it will be to have her gone all day. It's crazy to see them growing up so fast. I'm hoping to make the most of the next few weeks before we head back into the structured school days.

  1. Those were some great photos! I'm having the same angst over sending Aaron to first grade too! It will be good, but a hard change nonetheless.

  2. Your pictures are just lovely! I am well over due for a photography outing (sans children)!

  3. Looks like you had a fun summer :o)

  4. Gosh, your summer is over early ! When do your children go back to school? Our children only broke up for the summer holidays a few days ago and don't go back until the beginning of September. Glad you enjoyed your summer break and enjoy your new term at school
