Lattice Quilt Pattern #3: Diamond Lattice

Update: This pattern is no longer available for purchase.

This quilt came about when I simply started playing with the layout. Originally I planned to do a scrappy, random arrangement but wasn't happy with how it was turning out. I kept moving blocks around until I ended up with this design. This quilt finishes at 54" square and does not have size variations included in the pattern.

The back is made up of smaller scraps leftover from piecing. I used nearly all of my little bundle of fabric from this line. I had a lot of fun working with the Madrona Road fabric. I love the colors. The chevron pattern is a new favorite.

It took quite a while to quilt this one. I quilted the centers of all the squares in a rectangular spiral. I did this with my walking foot. It required that I turn the quilt many, many times as I worked on it. Usually I enjoy the quilting portion of making my quilts, but I did get bored of this one after a while and was glad when it was done.

  1. Cool, like the herringbone fabirc blocks with the quarter text bit in (she says in a very un-technical sort of a way!)

  2. I really love your quilting on this one!

  3. I can totally understand how you got bored quilting it, but it really makes the quilt.

  4. This is totally fab, Kati - all the options are, actually. I've been really inspired by this series you've been posting so thank you!
