Lattice Quilt Pattern #1: Ombre Zig-Zag

This quilt is the first quilt design in my Lattice pattern booklet for sale. The pdf pattern is on sale this week for $6.50 on Craftsy and Etsy! Regular price will be $8. If you purchase it from Craftsy, you will receive an automatic link to download the pattern. If you purchase from Etsy, I will email the pattern to you within 24 hours.

I love the ombre fabrics from Simply Color that came out a few months ago. The colors are fun, and the various shades give you a lot of flexibility in what can be created from them. I created this baby quilt by carefully cutting and placing fabrics. I detail my process in the pattern.

I have a full FQ bundle of this line that I've cut into 18" squares for another quilt. I pieced the scraps for the back of this quilt. The binding is the grey ombre fabric which makes for a fun, simple binding.

I quilted this one very densely. I tried a pattern shown in Angela Walters Craftsy class. Although I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, I'm not sure that I like a quilt with this much stitching. It makes it more stiff. I tried the Pellon bamboo batting for this quilt which helped. The bamboo was easy to work with and has a nice drape. The pictures were taken before I washed the quilt, but it washed up quite nicely.

This quilt is a baby size at about 45" x 50". The pattern also includes sizing for a throw.
