This is some of my favorite fabric ever. I love the little elephants.
By the way, check out the sad corner of the blue chair. I think my chair is in need of a face lift one of these days. The poor thing is wearing out. I'm debating on just recovering it with the same fabric, or I might upgrade to Laurie's new line Perfectly Perched.
I added the green border because I felt like it need something to tie in that one lonely green flower.
I'm not sure I'll be doing another quilt like this for a while, but I'm so glad I tackled it. I admit the thing that made this doable for me was watching Leanne's video from She can Quilt. I've always tried to pin my curves because that is what you are supposed to do, right? Well, after watching Leanne's video I stopped pinning my curves cold-turkey, and surprisingly, it's way easier to sew curves without pins. NY Beauty blocks--no pins. Retro Flowers blocks--no pins. Improv curves--no pins. It took a bit of getting used to. I have learned to much more carefully ease the fabrics together as I'm sewing and am much happier with the results. Thanks Leanne!

I love your quilt, I so want to get time to make one of these too. I am so glad the video helped, as you said, it just takes a little practice. It is so much fun to see curves as no issue rather than a scary thing. Thank you for such a lovely endorsement.

Love the thin green borader with that single green flower! How thin is your border? It's so tricky to get a nice, even strip the thinner it gets. Yours looks amazing!

I love this pattern, you did a great job :) I love the little touches of green, it really lifts the quilt.
Although this pattern was labor intensive, I loved making it too. The curves thing is so much easier with the curve piecing foot. Your quilt turned out beautiful

If you are not set on one of Laurie's new prints for your chair, fabric.com has some great designer laminated fabrics that might hold up a bit longer. We recovered our kitchen chairs six months ago in a blue Amy Butler Love print and they have been holding up to the four kids well. I don't know what I did before the chairs were wipe-able...well, actually, they just looked gross all the time. :)

I'm making the retro flowers quilt as well, but I have to say your choice of fabrics is STUNNING. Makes me almost want to start over.

I love the one green flower, great touch. I also don't pin my curves, and I think it is MUCH easier that way! I tried pinning when I started this QAL and remembered why I don't like doing that. LOL

I love what your quilt looks like. It's beautiful. Makes me wish to make one for me, too. But I'll have to finish my retro flowers table runner first and with a toddler and a newborn there's no time for doing so. I hope that changes soon.
I sewed my petals I have collected for my table runner without pins, too. I was surprised, too, how easy it is. I love that I can sew those curves without pins.
