Slash the Stash--March Edition

I can't believe we are yet again at the end of the month.  I used a good amount of my stash this month, but definitely added a bit to it.  I ordered my FMF which was a big spluge, but one I've planned for months.  I also bought some I-spy fabrics for a little swap with a few friends.  I did cut fabrics for two new quilts, also entirely from the stash..

My biggest stash buster for the month was this quilt.  I actually finished a second quilt entirely from my stash, but it will be summer before I get to post a picture of that one...

Did you do any stash busting this month?  Link up any projects you made this month from your stash.  I'm challenging myself this month next month to cut into some of my favorite fabrics and make something fun.  They aren't any good in the box.

Zipit is sponsoring our little Slash the Stash link up this month.  Jennie has generously offered a discount code of 15% off her store.  Just use the code FROMTHEBLUECHAIR.  There is no expiration on this code!  Use it anytime you'd like. A while back I ordered a pack of 50 zippers from Zipit and have loved using them in pouches.  I ordered 9" zippers in all sorts of colors.

Zipit is offering a $25 gift certificate to one winner!  You can choose your favorite zipper colors.  She also has some fabulous zipper pulls that I might need to order next time.

You have two chances to win.  Giveaway Closed
  • Just leave a comment.
  • Link up a stash project and leave one more comment saying you did so.

Have a great weekend!  Giveaway closes Thursday, April 5.

I've not done much sewing the last couple of months, but I keep reading all these stash-busting posts and it makes me want to SEW SEW SEW! Gotta finish getting organized so I can do it! Thanks for the chance to win some zippers from a great store!

I used up much of my stash of blues and red on a scrappy lap quilt and would love to make some more zipped pouches. They are a favorite in my family!

It was a great month for me, because I've done two projects from my stash (see the links)! They are both gifts for my friends and family and I hope, that there will be more used stash in April :-)

Love your quilt, it's absolutely fabulous. I can't really say that i have been sewing much this month due to whiplash. i have, however started on a English Paper Piecing cushion cover: small hexagons in rainbow colours only using scraps.

Ooooh, I've been trying to sew from my stash this year, too! It's hard when there are so many tempting new fabric options out there!

Diann said...

I've been trying to sew from stash lately. I just made some burp cloths from some flannel that is at least 10 years old. When I do a quilt though, I always need to buy at least one fabric to complete it. I'm very impressed that you manage to pull it off.

SewLindaAnn said...

I have been working so hard to sew from stash. The only purchase this year has been a fat qtr. set of FMF since I never had any. The only line I'm planning on buying some of is Sweetwater's new one. Can't remember the name though. Have a good weekend!

Your quilts are really organic and calming--the colorways are fab! I especially like the deep turquoise-y and orange pops in the string quilt.
I just finished a Flea Market messenger bag for my friend, but I'm going to wait until she receives it before making a post--I almost wish it would get lost in my house so it can't leave... :O) And I need to make three pouches in the next two weeks so winning some zippers would be great!

I have been trying to sew for several week es and finally got a few blocks done, but am having trouble with my machine. I think it needs to visit the "doctor" so I can sew with ease again.
