This was a fabulous sewing weekend. We had our third sewing Saturday with the Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild. It was four great hours of chatting, eating and sewing. I made quite a bit of progress quilting this guy. Then I came home and quilted for two more hours that night to finish it up. I attached the binding Sunday afternoon and threw it in the wash in time to get some photos taken last night before it was too dark. Luckily it was a nicer day, although super cold. We've had snow four of the past eight days, and this week isn't shaping up to be much better. I'm wishing for warm weather.
My new neighbors were watching me take photos while they ate dinner. I just acted completely normal like people do this everyday, but once again, I'm sure they think I'm crazy.
It crinkled up nice and soft in the wash. It's quite a heavy quilt with all that linen. I love the look of the 100% linen but probably won't be using it again anytime soon. It's a beast to work with.
This quilt is completely inspired by
this fabulous quilt from Crafts by Abby. Loved it the second I saw it!
The finished size is approximately 60" x 75". The diamonds are 4.5" cut at 45 degrees. The sashing is 1" finished. I quilted 6 lines along each sashing strip going one direction and 4 lines going the other direction. I think this will be my official quilt, at least for a while.
Beautiful!
