Black & White Quilt

I finally got to show this quilt off at quilt guild the other night so I'm now getting around to posting some pictures. I made many of the blocks by improv piecing--no real patterns to follow. I wish I could remember where I got my inspiration from on many of these blocks, but can't remember them all. It was a super fun quilt to make. I was able to experiment and try lots of new techniques.

My favorite blocks:

Tutorial for the heart block is from Tallgrass Prairie Studio:

This block was much harder than I thought it was going to be. It took me a full night just to do this one. It was made up entirely of small leftover scraps from the other blocks.

Love this one. I will definitely do pieced circles again. I found some great tips on sewing circles on Tallgrass Prairie Studio.

I got my idea for this block from somewhere, but I can't seem to remember or find it. I'll post it later if I find it again.

This is a 9-patch block that I sliced up, rotated and re-sewed about 4 different times.
